Life this side of heaven is so hard and the desire to have an "empty nest" at some point in life is very appealing to me too after years of childrearing. And yet, I truly wouldn't trade all the insight and wisdom and perspective I have gained while walking this particular journey the Lord has laid out for me. It changed me. In a really good way. And it still is changing me. He is changing me. And I want to be more like Him -- even more than I want an empty nest.

Thanks, my friend, for your encouragement in this post and for pointing me here in your comment on Jonathan's CaringBridge site. I really do appreciate it. I have wanted to thank you for coming alongside us during this particularly difficult year. Your comments on CB are so encouraging and uplifting, especially because you are traveling a similar journey and you get it. Thank you. ~ Amy KAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
